The Science Leaders of the Future Club at METS Charter School is planning to visit Columbia University in New York  for a tour of the college. The members have already started researching facts about the university and about protein-RNA biochemist Samuel H. Sternberg.  Mr. Sternberg is an Assistant Professor at Columbia University in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics, and the person who will be giving the students a tour of the university.

Columbia University, an ivy-league college, is known for majors in the Social Sciences, Engineering, Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Computer Information Sciences and Support Services, and Mathematics and Statistics. This is why both club leaders,  Mrs. Mendes and Ms. Medeiros, planned this trip for their students;  they want the students to learn more about Molecular Biophysics, and to ask some questions about other science fields they are interested in studying in the future.
