Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is an interactive film in the science fiction anthology series Black Mirror. It is rated TV-MA. The film was created by the series creator Charlie Brooker and directed by David Slade. Bandersnatch was released by Netflix on December 28, 2018. In Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, viewers have the option to choose between two choices in under ten seconds. If no option is chosen during the time, a default choice will be picked. There are several outcomes to the movie with five “main” endings.

You will be choosing these choices for the main character Stefan Butler who is a young programmer. Butler dreams of creating a video game based from a “choose your own adventure” book called Bandersnatch. Throughout the movie you will meet several characters that are key to what options you pick. In the game, the main goal is to traverse through a maze, with a creature named the Pax. Stefan produces the game for a video game company Tuckersoft which is ran by Mohan Thakur, and employs the famous video game creator Colin Ritman.

In my opinion, the movie was overall very unique given the fact that you get to choose which type of ending you get. There are plot flaws. If you think about what would have really happened if you picked the other option, then it wouldn’t make a lot of sense. I really liked the casting. It just fit with Will Poulter playing Colin and Fionn Whitehead playing as Stefan. The movie is out on Netflix. If you have the spare time and the subscription then give it a watch.  The Metronome gives this movie 4 stars out of five.
